About Us

We are a free debt advice service set up in 2013 by a group of churches in Ormskirk. Motivated by our Christian faith we wanted to respond to the increasing number of people enslaved by debt and not knowing how to escape.

All our advisers are volunteers and WLDA is funded by local churches, the local council and generous donations and grants.

We are members of Community Money Advice. All our advisers are trained and overseen by CMA. They are regularly updated with training to stay on top of the latest changes.

We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and comply fully with Consumer Credit Sourcebook (CONC) regulations.
